Sizwe Dhlomo reacts to Sol Phenduka’s firing from Kaya FM

TV and radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo has broken his silence on the dismissal of his colleague Sol Phenduka from Kaya FM.

The station confirmed the news on Monday, 1 September 2025, sparking backlash from listeners who were unhappy with the decision.

Phenduka, who co-hosted the breakfast show with Dhlomo, had already hinted at his exit on 21 August when he suggested on social media that his suspension would likely lead to termination.

Reacting to the development, Dhlomo took to X on Tuesday, 2 September, to express his disappointment at losing his co-host.

“Yeah, he brought a lot of value. It was also just good to work with him. Really unfortunate chain of events,” he wrote.

Fans of Podcast and Chill, where Phenduka is also a host, rallied around him on social media, offering words of encouragement as he begins a new chapter outside the station.
