Sizwe Dhlomo brags about rejecting an acting role and radio gig

Media personality Sizwe Dhlomo has surprised fans with revelations about some of the career opportunities he walked away from.

In response to a post on X, Sizwe shared that while going through his old files, he discovered a letter from 5FM offering him a radio show, which he turned down.

“Lol! I was looking for my old files! I even found a letter of a radio show I was offered on 5FM but I turned it down,” he wrote.

When a follower asked if the offer wasn’t what he wanted at the time, Sizwe explained that he had bigger plans.

“I had a bigger plan for my life. I turn down a lot of jobs. Like, lots! Do you know that the role of ‘Sbu Vilakazi’ on Rhythm City was written for me? I politely declined because I’m not an actor. Then they offered it to Andile Ncube I think, he also declined,” he revealed.

His post sparked lively reactions from X users, with one saying, “No Dinangwe, we’re not talking about acting, everyone can act.”

Another joked about how some get handed opportunities without auditions.

“Mmm must be nice, other kids must go for auditions while the likes of Sizwe and Andile just get offers without sweat. Alikho liciniso emhlabeni.”

One user even joined in the banter, commenting, “They also offered me the role yaka Fats. I humbly declined since I’m not a fat person.”
