Springbok captain Siya Kolisi vowed to personally deal with the school bullies of a young rugby fan who reached out to him for help.

The father-of-two is known for his charitable endevours, many of which include helping underprivileged communities.

SIYA KOLISI COMES TO RESCUE OF BULLIED SCHOOL BOY

In an Instagram Reel posted on the feel-good charity TriggrGood, Siya Kolisi is seen speaking in a video message to a young fan.

The little boy, known as Darren or “McGuyver”, had revealed that he had been on the receiving end of threats from bullies. As a result, the little boy’s school marks had drastically taken a dip.

“Tell those boys who are bullying you that I am coming for them. I’m going to deal with them,” Siya Kolisi said in a video message to the boy.

The Springbok captain added: “Stay strong, be yourself and don’t be scared of anything”.

According to TriggrGood, Siya’s message worked wonders, and the little boy’s confidence and academics improved. His bullies also apologised.

TOUGH CHILDHOOD

Siya Kolisi has been vocal about his own childhood, which was plagued by poverty, substance abuse, and witnessing his late mother being assaulted by the men in her life.

Siya was born in the Eastern Cape township of Zwide. His grandmother raised him after his mother’s death.

He told the BBC in 2021: “It went past being hungry; it was actually painful in your stomach. I could feel my intestines twisting in the middle of the night.”

“I would scream to my grandmother, and she would get me sugar water, and it would settle it down”.

Siya later received a full rugby scholarship to attend Grey High School, a prestigious rugby-oriented school in Port Elizabeth, where he developed his skills on the pitch.
