Siya Kolisi and Zozibini Tunzi have reunited in a clip posted on social media several years after their viral encounter in 2019

The Springbok captain and the former Miss Universe’s affectionate moment set tongues wagging at the time, despite the rugby star being married.

Siya has since moved from his marriage to Rachel Kolisi to a new romantic partner, Rachel John. Meanwhile, Zozi is married to businessman Luthando Bolowana.

SIYA KOLISI AND ZOZI TUNZI REUNITE

On her Instagram account, Zozi Tunzi posted a clip of her attending the SA20 finals in Cape Town over the weekend.

At the cricket match were several famous faces, including retired Bafana Bafana player Simphiwe Tshabalala and his wife, Bokang Montjane.

Siya Kolisi was also there, also posting clips of Instagram of himself mingling with fans .

The rugby player and the beauty queen shared jokes and a hearty conversation. At one point, they even briefly held each other’s hands before letting go.

In 2019, Siya Kolisi – who had returned with the Springboks from Japan after winning the Rugby World Cup – was greeted at OR Tambo by the newly crowned Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi.

The duo – both from the Eastern Cape – were the subject of much social media speculation, despite Siya being a married man.

A few months later, Zozi went on to win the Miss Universe title.

PRAISE FOR SPRINGBOK CAPTAIN

As the then-Miss UNiverse living in New York for her reign, Zozi Tunzi often spoke with pride about her home country.

The beauty queen brought up the moment she met the Springboks just months before at the airport.

She told the Sunday Times: “Winning that [20190 World Cup together meant that so much can be achieved if we’re able to work together and push ourselves forward. So for me to meet the team straight after they won was so inspiring. Especially under the leadership of Siya Kolisi. I wish we could fast-track to a place where race is no longer an issue, where we can all celebrate together our differences.

She added, “I really have so much hope for SA. I see us moving forward, trying to push through whatever barriers we are facing and becoming the rainbow nation we are known to be.”
