South African entertainer Sipho ‘Psyfo’ Ngwenya has been revealed as the celebrity behind the Clock costume on the third season of The Masked Singer South Africa.
The former child star, actor, presenter and musician surprised viewers when he was eliminated during the latest episode of the SABC 2 singing competition.
Ngwenya’s identity remained a mystery to the show’s panel of celebrity detectives, who failed to correctly guess that the performer hiding behind the elaborate Clock mask was the familiar face behind hits, television appearances and years in the entertainment industry.

Sipho Ngwenya brings a memorable Clock performance
Before his reveal, Clock took on Sushi in a musical showdown, performing I Like to Move It from the animated film Madagascar.
Although his energetic performance impressed viewers, Sushi won the battle, sending Clock into the danger zone before his eventual elimination.
The clues around Clock hinted at a performer with a long history in entertainment, references to youth, learning and unexpected fame.
The detectives offered several guesses — including names from music, acting and sport — but none identified Ngwenya correctly before the mask came off.

The secret behind the mask
According to EWN, Psyfo described the experience as one of the most enjoyable projects he had taken part in. He noted that the secrecy surrounding the competition added to the excitement, explaining that even keeping the costume hidden from family created a unique challenge.
He also stated that his song choice had a personal connection, saying he selected I Like to Move It because it is his son’s favourite song.
Ngwenya later said, “I’ve just been blessed also by having a good support structure around family, friends who respected what I do and therefore didn’t kind of like see me different in any way.”
Although his Clock’s time on the show ended, he reminded viewers that even the most recognisable stars can still surprise them when they step into a new role.
