What is the show about?
The show follows 26 contestants competing for the title of Ultimate Wedding Chef. The first episode opened with the two judges, The Funny Chef Lebogang Tlokane and Tebogo Trevor Mmatli, formerly known as Chef Dede, selecting the contestants.
From episodes 2 to 9, the contestants will then compete in front of their actual critics, the engaged couples. The couples will present their love stories, traditional beliefs, cultural background, plans for their big day, and personal taste.
The contestants are then tasked with transforming the information into dishes that may end up on the couple’s wedding menu.
The chefs will return in episode 10 to assess the contestants’ technical abilities, creativity, and culinary visions, making the contestants face the ultimate test.
In the end, only one contestant will emerge victorious.
The show has a new host as well, Sipho ‘Alphi’ Mkhwanazi, who will guide viewers through the drama, kitchen chaos, and triumphs.

The couples and critics
There will be eight couples serving as critics on the show, with the hope of finding the best chef for their wedding day.
There were a few extraordinary love stories, Daily Sun reports, such as the one between Keamohetsoe Lethatha and Musawenkosi Hadebe, whose love bloomed in 2014 and endured through unemployment during the pandemic and a gut-wrenching period when their child was in the ICU.
Another love story shared was between Botshelo Makata and Lesego Moloi, back in 2019, when sparks flew during a recorded sales call. Botshelo searched for Lesego on social media and eventually found her. The couple have been in love since.
