Popular Limpopo musician Melita Mogale, popularly known as Kharishma, is reportedly fighting for her life in hospital after a car accident on Friday.

The horror crash is reported to have taken place between Grobler and Magazyn Street in Polokwane. Reports indicate that the Chokeslam hitmaker was travelling with another passenger, who also sustained injuries in the crash. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the car accident is still unknown, and the police have launched an investigation.

In a statement issued by her family, they confirmed that Kharishma and three friends were involved in the crash.

”We would like to assure the public, her fans, and supporters that qualified and dedicated medical professionals are doing everything possible to ensure her recovery and healing.”

Expressing gratitude for the support they have received, Kharishma’s family said they were “deeply touched by the overwhelming messages of support, prayers, and well wishes received thus far.”

The family also conveyed their gratitude to provincial leaders, including the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality, Makoro John Mpe, and his MMC, Jerry Mamabolo, for their support and compassion.

Kharishma’s family has appealed for privacy, asking the public and media to respect her privacy and allow her the space and time she needs to recover.

Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM) also confirmed the accident in a statement.

“We are deeply saddened by what has happened. Kharishma is a beloved member of our creative community, and we are praying for her full recovery,” said a spokesperson for LAM.
