Sindi Dlathu writes tribute to late actress Shange

South African actress Sindi Dlathu has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Cynthia Shange following news of her passing.

Taking to social media, Dlathu posted a photo of Shange and expressed deep admiration for the woman she described as both graceful and impactful.

“Grace, love and gentleness… this is how I will always remember you Ma,” she wrote.

She went on to highlight the legend’s intellect and personality, recalling meaningful conversations they shared over time.

“You carried such depth and intelligence, sharp wit and a remarkable sense of humour. Our conversations flowed so effortlessly, each one meaningful and enriching. Those are moments I will forever cherish.”

Dlathu also reflected on the energy Shange brought into every space, describing her as a presence that was both comforting and inspiring.

“You were always warm and always brought light into every space you entered. Your presence was both grounding and uplifting,” she added.

Admitting that words could never fully capture who Shange was, she concluded her tribute with a powerful farewell: “I could write a book about you, but I will leave it here. You wore your crown with grace Ndlovukazi, in every sense of the word.”

Her message joins a growing number of tributes from across the country, as South Africans continue to honour Cynthia Shange’s life, legacy, and lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
