Simba SC have received a massive boost ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup clash against Orlando Pirates.

The Tanzanian side were drawn against the Buccaneers in the CAFCC quarter-final after finishing their group in second place behind RS Berkane.

Simba relied on their great home form to progress, winning three of their fixtures in Tanzania, scoring eight goals and conceding just one.

The Ligi Kuu Bara side have now received a massive boost after CAF has allowed them to host 60 000 at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar-es-Saalam.

“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has accepted our request for 60,000 fans to enter the stadium for the Confederations Cup quarter-final against Orlando Pirates,” the club confirmed on social media.

Simba are unbeaten at home in their last 14 games and last lost Jwaneng Galaxy in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, when a 3-1 defeat saw them being knocked out by Morena Ramoreboli’s side.

Simba did beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 at home in the CAF Champions League quarter-final last season but it wasn’t enough to overturn a 4-0 first-leg defeat.

The match against Pirates will kick off at 18:00 on 17 April, with the second leg taking place in South African a week later.
