‘Sibongile & The Dlaminis’ ends

It’s the end of the road for Sibongile & The Dlaminis, one of Mzansi’s most beloved telenovelas.

The fan-favourite show officially aired its final episode on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, after a successful two-season run.

The news was first confirmed by entertainment commentator Jabu Macdonald, and later verified by Mzansi Magic’s PR Specialist, Irvin Pooe.

The show, which once held the title of the most-watched telenovela on DStv’s Mzansi Wethu, had briefly taken a production break in March.

Now, it has officially come to a close, marking the end of a memorable chapter in local television.

One of the series’ lead actors, Vuyo Biyela, took to social media to share a heartfelt message reflecting on the journey and expressing gratitude to everyone involved.

“What a journey it has been… Two incredible years of Sibongile & The Dlaminis on our screens, and what a blessing it’s been to be part of something so special,” he wrote.

“I want to take this moment to deeply thank every single person who has supported us from day one until tonight’s episode. Your love has meant the world.”

Biyela also extended his appreciation to Mzansi Magic for entrusting him with the role of Kwenzokuhle Dlamini and allowing him to be part of what he described as “a beautiful tapestry.”

Reflecting on his time on set, he added, “To the cast and crew, I’m so proud to have walked this path with you.
