Nkosinathi Sibisi has had a very impressive start at Orlando Pirates, and he wants to be consistent and show the club they made the right decision to sign him with an aim to survive and express gratitude to coach Mandla Ncikazi.

The 26-year-old defender has been consistent for the past three seasons in top-flight football, showing leadership for Lamontville Golden Arrows and his performances have made him ranked as one of the top centre-back in the league, his growth has resulted in him joining Orlando Pirates before the beginning of the season, as he was also targeted by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Joining a big team like Pirates is not that easy for anyone regardless of talent and especially coming from KwaZulu-Natal, there’s always added pressure which comes with trying to adapt to new life and Sibisi seems to have mastered that, as he has managed to adjust and become an early regular in the team and after Saturday win against Royal AM, becoming the man of the match.

The defender said it was very important for him to give the same performances that made Pirates sign him at Arrows and how his new teammates have made it easy for him to adjust.

“We all about the team success, if the team does well, the recognition grow from every player and ever since I’ve joined Orlando Pirates, Amajita (Teammates) have welcomed me well, I feel like at home, which is something I’m grateful for”- Sibisi told media

“I must be consistent, it is all about doing what they saw in me, keeping the same attitude and performances that made them sign me, if I do that, surely will be able to do well in the club, this was my first move after I spend seven years at Golden Arrows, I had to make so many changes to adjust, it not easy but I’m trying.”

Sibisi has also expressed gratitude to coach Mandla Ncikazi, who has played a huge role in him moving to the Buccaneers and how he is making it easy for him to adjust on and off the field in Gauteng, they both worked together at Abafana Bes’thende and led them to their first ever top four finish.

“Coach Mandla has helped me to adjust, he is showing me good ways to survive and I’m grateful to have someone like him, who is here for me”

If Sibisi keeps on these performances, he may become one of the most respected defenders from KZN, who went to Orlando Pirates and left the mark, the likes of Siyabonga Sangweni and Mbulelo Mabizela.
