Orlando Pirates defender Nkosanathi Sibisi has detailed the conversation he had with his agent Mike Makaab before joining the club from Golden Arrows.
The South Africa international defender who turns 27 later this month joined Pirates after emerging as one of the most consistent defenders in the DStv Premiership over the past few seasons.
Mamelodi Sundowns were known admirers of his talents and were said to have tabled an offer to the KZN-based outfit in a previous transfer windows outfit but Sibisi stayed put before eventually landing up at Mayfair.
“We had a very very long discussion, it wasn’t a very easy decision,” Sibisi said at Rand Stadium on Thursday morning ahead of the TS Galaxy encounter.
“Mike brought his opinion about whether I would fit in that team if I go there, I had to reason somehow and see myself in the team before coming to the team.
“So I think that conversation helped and I’m really happy it worked the way it worked out.”
Sibisi went on to state his time at the Soweto giants so far has been a joy and he’s enjoying playing a starring role in the heart of the defence.
“The transition had been alright for me, [the] first game I got Man of the Match, the second game I scored, so for me it’s been quite fantastic and I’m very happy to be here.”
Pirates will take on the Rockets on Saturday afternoon at Orlando Stadium at 17h30.
