Former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida

Former Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo “Shudu” Musida recently took to Instagram to reflect on a major milestone, which is the fifth anniversary of her Miss SA crowning.

Sharing a heartfelt post, Shudu expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported her since winning the coveted title in 2020.

“I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I was crowned Miss South Africa,” she wrote, adding, “Thank you to everyone who’s supported my journey from then until now. I’m so blessed to call you my village.”

The model and author also shared an emotional moment from her post, saying the last slide of her post brought her to tears as it showed “the village that raised me, celebrating me.”

Shudu took a moment to pay tribute to her late Uncle Oscar, who offered her words of wisdom before the 2020 finale.

“He said, ‘If you believe the crown is yours, then it is yours. But if you believe it’s not, then it’s not. No one can do the believing for you, no matter how badly we want it for you.’”

Shudu Musida was crowned Miss South Africa on 24 October 2020, becoming an inspiration to many for her authenticity, intelligence, and advocacy for mental health awareness.
