Shalulile Breaks Record With Goal Against Cameroon

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile became the all-time top goalscorer for Namibia after scoring against Cameroon in the 1-1 draw on Friday evening.

The Brave Worriers faced the Indomitable Lions in the African Cup Of Nations Qualifiers in Yaoundé.

Coming to this game Shalulile was on the same number of goals (13) as former Orlando Pirates striker Rudolf Bester who is now retired from football.

The former Highlands Park forward needed only one goal to surpass Bester and become Namibia’s all-time leading goalscorer.

It took only 26 minutes into the game for Shalulile to overtake him as the all-time leading goalscorer of the Barave Warriors after capitalizing from a miscommunication between Cameroonian defender Jean-Charles Castelletto and goalkeeper Devis Epassy, which only need him to poke the ball and find the back of the net.

The 29-year-old made his debut in the national team back in September 2014 and he has 47 caps under his belt.

Namibia will now face Cameroon in the return fixture on 28 March at Dobsonville Stadium.
