Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala struck a brace in a 4-1 win over Orbit College to climb into second place.

With 22 points, Amakhosi have drawn level on points with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who only play on Wednesday against TS Galaxy in Tshwane.

The 21-year-old Shabalala found his first goal as early as the fourth minute before completing his brace in the 61st minute. Shabalala’s Soweto homeboy Mfudo Vilakazi made it 3-1 in the 71st minute before Silva made it 4-1 in the 89th minute for his fourth goal in six games.

Shabalala’s double has taken his tally to three goals in 14 games after scoring in the 1-1 draw with AmaZulu last month.

The victory was Kaizer Chiefs’ second triumph on the trot after Flavio Silva‘s late goal in the 1-0 result over Durban City last Friday.
