AFRO-SOUL singer Kelly Khumalo’s unreleased song, Bazokhuluma (People will talk), has set tongues wagging.
In the wake of Senzo Meyiwa murder case, Kelly’s song has already divided Mzansi.
The chorus of the song says: “You can be quiet but people will talk. You can do anything but they will talk. Their words can destroy your soul.”
Another verse says: “People can close doors but God will open another door. They can put obstacles for us but God will take us through.”
In the video clip she posted, she revealed that she is happy and this song will be her December hit.
“I’m still recording it,” she said.
“You’ve been asking me lots of questions, asking when I’m releasing. Well, this is what I was waiting for.
“I went looking for Zakwe and I found him. I went looking for Mthunzi and I found him,” she continued.
But a number of people believe that the song has double meaning.
They believe Kelly is trying to respond to Senzo’s murder case.
Ntuthu Godide said: “Each track Kelly does since Senzo died is a clue why Senzo was killed.”
Frazier Cibane said: “Your song is on fire but we know you’re indirectly responding to Mzansi.”
Zamalinda Sosibo wrote: “And here we are, wondering when are you going to start talking.”
Phumuza Zindela said: “You’re right, those who were inside the house will eventually talk.”
But there were also those who felt she was using the case to promote her song.
Nonhlanhla said: “The same people who speak ill of her will go in numbers and buy her music. “This is her strategy to market her music. She used the same strategy on Ngathwala Ngaye song.”
Luthando Langa: “I love Kelly Khumalo, she’s the best. I can’t wait for her song.” – Daily Sun
