This week, the ongoing investigation into the assassination of Kiernan “AKA“ Forbes has again gained much attention on social media. This was prompted by the recent interview of Anwar “Dogg“ Khan, AKA‘s long–time personal security guard from his time spent in KwaZulu–Natal. Dogg Khan was asked to provide insight on the case, as he was in close contact with the late rapper for many years.

Dogg Khan has been adamant that AKA was killed as part of a larger criminal conspiracy and that the police have been negligent in their investigation thus far. His claims have been met with mixed reactions, as some believe that his words should be taken seriously, while others see him as simply trying to stir up drama.

After an interview between AKA‘s Dogg and e, TV, Dogg suggested that AKA‘s visit to the Wish restaurant where he was shot resulted from a resurgence in public suspicion that his visit was a breach of security given the contentious relationship he had with the province.

However, AKA‘s family and girlfriend Nadia Nakai were quick to refute the claims that his road manager and brother to rapper K.O., or even his entire team, were implicated in any way. This caused a divide between AKA‘s camp and has led to AKA‘s case being compared to another unsolved murder case of a prolific figure.

Senzo Meyiwa And AKA’s Cases Compared

It has been almost a decade since the death of Senzo Meyiwe, the former soccer player and captain of Bafana Bafana. He was killed under mysterious circumstances at the family residence of his then–girlfriend, the musician Kelly Khumalo. At the time of his death, five other people were supposedly in the house, but the case remains unsolved.

For the past eight years, many theories have been put forward about who the killer might have been or what happened in the house that night. These theories have implicated Kelly Khumalo, Longwe Twala, and others in residence then. Unfortunately, there has been no progress in finding out who committed the crime and what occurred that fateful evening.

The public has become convinced that the same inaction will occur in the case of AKA, the victim of a brutal murder. The evidence available to the South African Police Service (SAPS) has been highlighted by social media users, including the CCTV footage of AKA‘s last living moments, which appears to show the killers. Additionally, fingerprints at the crime scene may have been able to lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Despite this, no arrests have been made, leading people to believe that the SAPS has not taken the necessary steps to investigate the case thoroughly. This lack of action has caused frustration and anger in public, as they feel that the killers should be brought to justice. The SAPS must take the necessary steps to investigate the case and apprehend the perpetrators in order to restore faith in the justice system.

Senzo Meyiwa, Dj Sumbody, Dumi Masilela, Tebza Mafikizolo, Kiernan Forbes – some of their families still have no justice after years & our police have failed to solve their cases. There is no excuse for the lack of progress, justice must be served!

Since the death of South African rapper AKA, the public has raised questions about the circumstances leading to his death and the investigation of his murder. In particular, many have compared the situation to that of Senzo Meyiwe, a South African musician. In the case of Senzo Meyiwe, his partner, Kelly Khumalo, was publicly vilified by the public, despite there being no evidence to suggest she had anything to do with his death.

This has led to many people questioning why the same accusations are not being made regarding AKA‘s death. At the same time, AKA‘s family and friends have spoken out against the public, attempting to include AKA‘s team that was with him at the time of his passing as suspects in his assassination. This is not an attempt to vilify AKA‘s team but rather to encourage the South African Police Service (SAPS) to work harder in solving the case and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

It is clear that the public is eager for justice to be served in the case of AKA‘s death and expects the same level of investigation as was conducted in the Senzo Meyiwe case. The SAPS has been tasked with ensuring that the case is solved as soon as possible so that justice can be served and the perpetrators held accountable.
