Provide training and awareness to staff.
Early detection of potential contractual disputes and negotiating resolutions thereof in conjunction with legal.
Monitor transactions compliance (e.g, milestones, expiry dates, deliverables, invoicing etc.); oversee compliance with service
level agreements and ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
Administer systems, processes and controls established for management of contracts within context of an organ of state or a
large commercial entity;
Serve as the point of contact for end-users on contractual matters, ensuring timely review, negotiation of variations, approval
of consensus and record-keeping;
Maintain contractual records and documentation: receive record and control all contract correspondence, customer contact
information sheets, contractual change & addendums, status reports and other documents for projects.
Where needed, provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff, including training in
contracting practices and procedures.
Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with Transnet policy.
Monitor contractual process compliance by employees with established procedures and identify areas of recurrent risk.
Support Risk management/ Finance to coordinate contractual enterprise risk & insurance requirements.
Offer support to Finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as international pricing terms,
discounting policies, penalties, export/ import controls etc.
Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties in order to provide necessary interpretation to support
implementation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- LLB degree
- Between 3-5 years post admission experience in corporate/commercial legal advisory.
- Admitted attorney of the high Court with between 3-5 years post articles experience.

Knowledge required:
- Sound knowledge of Contract Law.
- Working Knowledge in and Experience with the new engineering contracts III (NEC3) suite of contracts.
- Working Knowledge of BBBEE, Supplier Development and Local Content requirements in relation to Supply Chain
contracts.
- Working with, and possibly leading, Cross Functional sourcing Teams (CFST)
- Experience in contractual dispute resolutions.
