Renowned actor Sello Maake kaNcube and his wife Pearl are reportedly navigating through some marital turbulence. As per Zimoja, the anticipated lobola negotiations at Pearl’s residence in Soweto were met with the conspicuous absence of Sello’s family.
Pearl, while speaking to News24, chose to remain cryptic about the situation, stating, “People will always believe what they want.” She refrained from divulging any specifics but hinted that the truth would eventually come to light.
Interestingly, amidst these personal upheavals, Pearl and Sello are currently engrossed in rehearsals for a play titled ‘Nothing But The Truth’, scheduled to premiere on 4 October at Theatre on Square in Sandton.
This isn’t the first time the couple’s relationship has been under the public eye. Their significant age difference – with Pearl in her early 40s and Sello in his 60s – had previously sparked conversations. However, they have consistently expressed their love and dedication towards each other.
In October 2022, they celebrated their second anniversary. Sello took to Instagram to express his affection for his wife, referring to her as “Mrs Maake kaNcube”. Pearl reciprocated with a heartfelt anniversary wish for her husband, lauding him for his role in their marriage. She wrote, “I have watched you become my husband each day, and each day you became my husband against all odds,” alongside a series of photos mirroring those shared by Sello.
