Sekhukhune’s Makhubedu backs Dlamini after Pirates howler | Breaking News

Sekhukhune United head coach MacDonald Makhubedu has backed goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini after his blunder proved costly when they fell 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership clash at Ellis Park on Wednesday evening.
Despite the mistake, which saw Bucs score with just eight minutes of regulation time left to play through Fortune Makaringe, Makhubedu has stated that Dlamini will remain Sekhukhune’s number one and claimed that the shot-stopper is the best in the league.
Dlamini saved a penalty earlier in the game, taken by Deon Hotto, but his howler saw Pirates walk away with all three points.
“We played better, and we were the best team on the night. We love our goalkeeper; Ayanda will remain our best,” said Makhubedu.
“He is by far the best goalkeeper in the league. I know he will come back strong; he is a strong character.
Babina Noko are without a win in five league matches and find themselves down in 10th place – one point off a spot in the top half of the table.
“About the game, we did well. I am happy with the boys’ performance, and I can’t wait for the next game [against TS Galaxy].
“If we take the same performance to the next game, we will do well. We are the best. I still trust my boys,” concluded the Sekhukhune mentor.
