Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates have confirmed their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership fixture at Ellis Park Stadium.
It is set to be an intriguing battle between ninth-placed Sekhukhune and fifth-placed Pirates. There is currently a five-point between the two teams, and with Macdonald Makhubedu’s team pushing for a top-eight spot, they cannot afford to miss out in home fixtures.
But they will not find things easy against a Pirates team, who will be disappointed to not be higher up the table.
Former Pirates striker Justin Shonga will be relishing an opportunity against his former team, and after scoring a great goal on the weekend, he will be looking to keep the momentum going.
This however is Pirates’ first fixture since before the international break, as the Buccaneers have been involved in the CAF Confederation Cup. Having secured a quarter-final spot in the continental tournament, Pirates were drawn to face Tanzania’s Simba in yesterday’s draw.
When Pirates hosted Sekhukhune in November, the Bucs won 2-1, courtesy of goals from Kabelo Dlamini and Linda Mntambo.
Here’s how they line up:
Sekhukhune United XI: tbc
Orlando Pirates XI: Ofori, Jele, Nyauza, Shandu, Mako, Monare, Mosele, Ndlovu, Dlamini, Hotto, Peprah.
