After Bafana Bafana faced elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the team’s captain, Ronwen Williams, showed off his well-deserved break with his family. Williams, along with his wife, Roshni, and children, Mikyle and Mila, enjoyed what Dubai had to offer.

The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper shared a series of pictures and videos of him and his loved ones on Instagram having fun in the dunes and riding camels, two popular activities in the Middle Eastern city. Another Instagram post showed the Williams family sailing on a yacht, with the iconic Jumeirah Burj Al Arab featured in the background.

Making history at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Bafana Bafana’s last appearance at the international soccer tournament dates back to 2010, when South Africa hosted the event, waving the knockout stage goodbye.

With Williams leading the team, Bafana Bafana managed to make it out of the group stage and make it to the Round of 32, where, unfortunately, Canada claimed a late 1-0 victory.

After beating South Korea in the final group stage, Williams, who was at a loss for words, told SABC Sport, “I’m not sure there’s a better word than proud. I am ecstatic and incredibly proud, especially considering what this side endured.

“Dealing with doubters and the stress of playing at this elite level is never easy.”

Williams also became the second goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet for Bafana Bafana in a World Cup match, as Andre Arendse secured this achievement against Slovenia in 2002.
