SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL PARKS – EPWP PROGRAMME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: 20x SEMI-SKILLED ENVIRONMENTAL MONITOR (SECURITY GUARDS) MARAKELE NATIONAL PARK

Challenging vacancies currently exist for 16x Unamed Environmental Monitors (Security Guards) at Marakele National Park to be deployed at various Security Points within the Greater Marakele Security Cluster. An above-stated position is a fixed-term contract up to the 31 March 2025.
The appointed participant or Environmental Monitor will be paid a wage rate of R 208 per day as per Expanded Public Works Programme rates.
Key performance areas
- Secure the Security Points within the Greater Marakele Security Cluster and it’s infrastructure from any act of emergency or violence and report any act of suspicious observations
- Monitor the place and check unnecessary actions
- Record vehicle registrations and the number of passengers entering and exiting through the Greater Marakele Security Cluster
- Guarding the area assisgned to detect evidence of suspicious activities and ensuring that any material in the area has not been tempered with
- Reporting unusual occurrencies to the Shift Supervisor or Security Supervisor, Section Rangers or Conservation Manager
- Providing physical security at boom gates/contrl points and related functions, including vehicle registration access control.
- Monitor and record data at Marakele Joint Operation Center
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12 ) or 2 years of experience in the same field
- Candidate must be willing to work shifts (Day and Night shifts)
- Minimum Grade D Security Certificate with PSIRA will be added as an advantage
- Previous experience as a Security Guard will an added advantage
- Must have knowledge of Security and Access control
- Must have wide knowledgeand ability in securing a building or a place
- Must have the the ability to protectand serve
- Can easily detect suspicious things or actions
- Knowledge of CMORE system for operations at Marakele Joint Operation Center
- Good communication skills including radio communication
