A three-year-old boy from the Zwezwe informal settlement in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, who has been missing since 24 September, has still not been found.
The Harare police, community policing forum, neighbourhood watch, and community members are all involved in the search for the toddler.
Asanda Daki, Hlaluminathi Daki’s mother, last saw her son around 4pm playing with other children.
“I went into the house while he was playing. Around 5pm, I went out to look for him. I found his scooter in a passage, but he was nowhere to be found,” Daki said.
“I asked the kids who were playing with my son, but they didn’t know where he was.”
Daki expressed her appreciation for everyone’s efforts in searching for her son and for the support she has received.
“I haven’t slept since Tuesday last week. I am asking myself who could take my son and why,” she said.
“I pray that we find him alive wherever he is. I am pleading with the person who took him to bring him back.”
Funeka Soldaat, chairperson of the Harare community policing forum, urged people to continue supporting the family.
“We all want the child to be reunited with his family, and we will continue searching for him until he is found,” Soldaat said.
