Sdumo Mtshali appreciates Tasha K
On 20 June 2026, Sdumo took to his Instagram account and shared a snippet of Tasha’s show, Unwine with Tasha K.
In the clip, she said, “I watched all 22 episodes… It’s about d*mn time that they got real Black writers, African writers, doing amazing shows that represent our culture in a very immaculate, ‘Black excellence’ type of way.”
Sdumo called the shout-out a compliment, adding, “Your mention helps to amplify this story to the world. Playing Jonasi was an honour. Thank you also to the Winos [Tasha’s fans] for watching. We appreciate the love.”
He also pointed out that the show was an adaptation of Zimbabwean author Sue Nyathi’s 2012 novel of the same name.

Why is Tasha K controversial?
As a celebrity gossip site, Unwine with Tasha K has landed in hot water with several high-profile figures. One of the most well-known legal battles involved rapper Cardi B.
In 2022, a federal jury ruled that the YouTuber had defamed the Grammy-winning artist by publishing more than 30 videos containing false allegations, including claims that Cardi B had sexually transmitted infections, worked as a prostitute, and used illegal drugs. The court initially ordered Tasha K to pay nearly $4 million in damages.
After she filed for bankruptcy, the debt was restructured into a repayment plan. The legal dispute continues, with Cardi B seeking additional sanctions over allegations that Tasha K breached a non-disparagement agreement.
