Amapiano DJ and producer Scotts Maphuma has followed through on his promise to TikTok content creator Shabbawama 2K by purchasing him brand-new studio equipment valued at about R10,000.

The gesture came days after social media users accused the musician of “ghosting” the young influencer, who had publicly revealed that Maphuma promised to support his creative journey but never fulfilled it.

Shabbawama 2K, known for his entertaining livestreams and growing TikTok following, had earlier shared a heartfelt message online, appealing for help to upgrade his content setup.

He wrote, “Greetings everyone. My name is Shabbawama 2K; I’m a social media influencer and TikTok live streamer. Over time, I’ve been privileged to use my platform to positively impact many lives through my live videos. However, I’ve recently come to realise the quality of my content has not met the standard I aim for. To continue creating meaningful, high-quality content and improve my livestream production, I am kindly reaching out for your support.”

His post, which included his banking details, gained traction online and caught the attention of Maphuma once again.

This week, photos surfaced of the two meeting in person, with Shabbawama 2K visibly elated as Maphuma presented him with new recording equipment.

While many fans praised the DJ for his generosity and accountability, others speculated that the act might have been a strategic move to fix his image after recent negative press.
