SASSA announces October Social Grants dates

SASSA has released the payment schedule for social grants in October.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the payment schedule for social grants in October, with disbursements set to begin in the first week of the month.

The agency, which manages over 19 million grant payments, confirmed the following dates:

  • Older Persons’ Grants: Payments will be available from Thursday, 2 October.
  • Disability Grants: Beneficiaries can access their funds from Friday, 3 October.
  • Children’s Grants: Payments for the Child Support and Foster Child Grants will be made from Monday, 6 October.

SASSA has also confirmed the grant amounts for October, which include R2315 for Old Age and Disability grants, R560 for the Child Support Grant, and R370 for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant.
