SASSA announces final social grant payments for 2025

  • The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the final 2025 social grant payment schedule, beginning on Tuesday, 2 December.
  • Over 19 million beneficiaries will receive their grants, with payments staggered over three days, starting with the Older Persons Grant.
  • The monthly grant amounts, including R2,315 for the Old Age Grant (60–74) and R560 for the Child Support Grant, remain consistent for this disbursement.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the payment schedule for the final disbursement of social grants this year, affecting more than 19 million beneficiaries.

The payments, which include pensions, disability grants, and child support, are set to begin next week.

Grant Type Payment Date
Older Persons Grant (Pension) Tuesday, 2 December 2025
Disability Grant Wednesday, 3 December 2025
Children’s Grants (Includes Child Support, Foster Child, Care Dependency) Thursday, 4 December 2025

The agency administers various grants, with the key monthly amounts currently set as follows:

  • Old Age Grant (60–74 years) and Disability Grant: R2,315
  • Old Age Grant (75+ years): R2,335
  • War Veterans Grant and Care Dependency Grant: R2,315
  • Foster Care Grant: R1,250
  • Child Support Grant: R560
  • SRD Grant (Social Relief of Distress): R370
