SAPS Forensic Captain’s Court Case Postponed After Brief Appearance
SAPS forensic laboratory captain Laurance Makgotloe briefly appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court today, Monday on charges of defeating the ends of justice. The matter has been postponed to 2 June 2026 for a formal bail application, and he remains in custody.
Makgotloe was arrested by the Commission’s Recommendations Task Team following allegations linked to the alleged manipulation of ballistic evidence in several high-profile murder investigations.
