Bongani Sam, who is currently on loan at Maritzburg United from Orlando Pirates, is training with SuperSport United.
It has now been a few weeks since Sam started training with Matsatsantsa, iDiski Times has learnt.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic defender joined the Team of Choice at the beginning of the season on loan from Orlando Pirates, but it now seems like he is not part of newly appointed coach Fadlu Davids’ plans for the remainder of the season.
“Yes, he’s training with SuperSport United. He’s looking at a possible exit from Maritzburg but only if they can come to an agreement,” a source told iDiski Times.
“He will go back to Orlando Pirates in July unless Pirates and SuperSport United can make a deal then.”
Davids and Sam had previously worked together at Pirates, so the new Maritzburg coach is familiar with Sam, who made 9 starts for Maritzburg so far this season.
The Pretoria-based side are also linked with Zukile Kewuti, who also is a former Maritzburg United player.
