Reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Zibusiso Dube, has reflected on her transformative journey as she prepares to pass on her crown to a new queen.
The 28-year-old model, who represented Zimbabwe last year at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, will pass on her crown in less than a month.
Sakhile Dube Hands Over The Crown
Posting on her Facebook, Dube admitted that being Miss Universe Zimbabwe has transformed her life. “As I prepare to hand over the Miss Universe Zimbabwe crown in just a month, I can’t help but reflect on how this incredible journey has transformed my life,” she said.
“From personal growth to advocating for causes close to my heart, every moment has been a stepping stone towards empowerment and self-discovery.”
Cherishing Being Miss Universe Zimbabwe
During her participation in the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, Dube gained support beyond her home country. When Miss Universe South Africa, Mia Le Roux, was officially ruled out of the competition, South Africans shifted their support to Dube. She went on to proudly finish the competition in the top 30.
She reflected on the experience she had during her reign as Miss Universe Zimbabwe.
“I’ve met inspiring individuals, forged lifelong friendships, and learned the true meaning of resilience and confidence. This experience has taught me that beauty goes beyond appearances; it’s about using our voices to uplift others and celebrate our unique identities. Grateful for every challenge and triumph along the way!”
As reported by The Herald, Dube has won Miss Supranational Africa and Supranational Top Model. She also won Miss Earth Zimbabwe (2022) and was Miss Tourism Zimbabwe.
A New Dawn For Miss Universe Zimbabwe
Dube has been working with the Miss Universe organisers to conduct auditions for the new queen, reported The Herald. The organisers are currently conducting auditions throughout the country. The top 30 will be unveiled on 19 April.
