Safa EC confirm date for provincial playoff tie replay | ABC Motsepe League – Front Page

Following weeks of uncertainty and legal wrangles between BCM Stars and SA Spear of the Nation, the Safa Eastern Cape has confirmed the date and kick-off time for the first leg abandoned provincial playoff match.

The ABC Motsepe League provincial playoff showdown between BCM and Spears will now be replayed on Wednesday, 18 May at Mphetshwa Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 14:00.

The first leg of the playoffs was abandoned due to a clash between supporters, after only 10 minutes played in the second stanza, with the scoreline still 1-0 in favour of Spears.

Spectators will not be allowed at the stadium after Safa decided that the showpiece will be replayed at a neutral venue behind closed doors.

The ABC Motsepe League rules, Safa competition rules, current Safa covid-19 regulations and Fifa laws of the game shall at all times apply.
