The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed four fixtures for Bafana Bafana to serve as preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Bafana are set to take part in the biennial event in Ivory Coast in January while they have been drawn in Group C for the World Cup qualifiers alongside Nigeria, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.
“These matches are in support of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos as he continues with his preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations at the beginning of next year, and the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November this year,” SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao said.
While the venues have yet to be confirmed, the opponents confirmed are Namibia (9 September), DR Congo (12 September) and eSwatini (13 October) to be hosted in South Africa and then AFCON hosts Ivory Coast on the 18th of October away from home.
The fixture against the West Africans will take place five days after the AFCON draw.
