SABC to broadcast Pirates and Sundowns games this Sunday

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will broadcast matches featuring both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.

The two South African giants will be in action on Sunday, albeit in different competitions. Pirates return to Betway Premiership duty, while Sundowns shift focus to the CAF Champions League.

TS Galaxy will host Pirates at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, 22 March (14:30), with the match set to be televised live on SABC 1 and SuperSport.

Pirates’ struggles in front of goal remain a growing concern. Forwards Evidence Makgopa and Yanela Mbuthuma have both battled for consistency in front of goal, contributing to crucial dropped points in recent weeks.

A win against TS Galaxy could see the Buccaneers return to the top of the standings, at least temporarily, as Sundowns still hold a game in hand.

With the Brazilians only returning to league action in April, Pirates have a valuable opportunity to build momentum, provided they capitalise on their fixtures.

Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou will also be hoping Sundowns’ CAF Champions League commitments begin to take a toll, potentially affecting their domestic form.

After the Pirates match, SABC 1 will then show Sundowns clash against Stade Malien.

Masandawana travel to Mali to face Stade Malien in the second leg of their CAF Champions League tie. The Brazilians head into the encounter with a comfortable 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

That match will also be broadcast live on SABC 1, kicking off at 17:30 on Sunday.

Who will win their matches?
