  • The winners will be announced at the prestigious 2025 CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for 19 November in Rabat, Morocco.

A strong South African contingent, featuring Mamelodi Sundowns stars and a rising Amajita talent, has made the final shortlist for the prestigious 2025 CAF Awards.

The ceremony, which celebrates the continent’s finest footballers and coaches for their exceptional performances for club and country, is scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

The event will honour winners across various categories, including the coveted CAF African Player of the Year awards.

Two established goalkeepers from Mamelodi Sundowns have earned nominations in their respective categories:

  • Ronwen Williams (Bafana Bafana Captain) is one of the three finalists for the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
  • Andile Dlamini (Banyana Banyana/Sundowns Ladies) is nominated for the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.

Adding to the South African presence is Tylon Smith, the Amajita sensation and Queens Park Rangers defender, who has been named a finalist for the Young Player of the Year award.

Furthermore, Mamelodi Sundowns have been recognised in the Team of the Year category. They will compete against Pyramids of Egypt and RS Berkane of Morocco for the title.
