British comedian Russell Brand is facing two new charges of rape and sexual assault after two more women came forward.

Four women came forward in April, which resulted in 50-year-old Brand being charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault.

According to Sky News, Brand pleaded not guilty to the earlier charges.

The five original charges allegedly took place between 1999 and 2005.

The trial for the five original charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court on 16 June 2026.

According to the BBC, the two new charges allegedly took place in 2009.

Brand is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 20 January 2026 for the two new charges.

Brand is accused of one rape in Bournemouth in 1999, and indecently assaulting another woman in the Westminster area in 2001.

A third charge alleges Brand sexually assaulted a woman in Westminster between 2004 and 2005.

The remaining counts relate to the alleged oral rape and sexual assault of another woman in 2004 in the Westminster area, reports the BBC.

Brand is famous for his stand-up comedy. He hosted TV shows like Big Brother’s Big Mouth, and had radio programmes on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, among others.

Brand starred in films like Despicable Me, Arthur, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek, to name a few.
