After their 1-0 victory over Royal AM on Wednesday night, Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro praised his team’s fighting spirit and their defensive performance.
Deon Hotto scored the winner in the DStv Premiership fixture at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, as Pirates moved up to fourth on the table.
Riveiro said there were a lot of positives to take from the win, and hailed the professional performance from his players.
“Very, very good. 60 minutes from us, plenty of very, many positive things,” Riveiro told SuperSport after the game.
“Very professional performance here tonight. And I like our defensive work today was incredible. Not happy with the way that we deal in the moment when we recover the ball, we should spend more time in the second half, keeping the possession and not suffer much.
“But even though we were defending a bit lower than what we want, I don’t remember any single clear chance of a very good team like Royal AM.
“So credit for our team, for our coaching staff, for our players, for everyone, because today it was beautiful to see the guys fighting in this way.”
