Kaizer Chiefs have signalled their intent for the upcoming season by securing the signature of a highly rated South African U20 international for their 2025/26 DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) campaign.

The youngster arrives at Naturena with significant pedigree, having spent the early part of 2025 gaining invaluable experience in the United States with MLS Next Pro outfit FC Cincinnati 2.

Widely regarded by fans as the premier U21 defensive midfielder in the country, the teenager’s arrival has sparked immediate excitement.

There is already growing speculation that his stay in the reserve ranks may be brief, with first-team head coach Nasreddine Nabi reportedly considering him for senior selection as the Premiership intensity heightens.

In a complementary move, Chiefs have sanctioned a loan deal for defender Nkosana Mbuthu, son of club legend Patrick Mbuthu.

He joins Leicesterford City FC to gain essential senior match minutes. These strategic manouevres underline the club’s commitment to a “smart” youth development model, balancing high-potential recruitment with pragmatic loan spells to build long-term squad depth.
