Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants are carrying the SA flag in the CAF inter-club competitions, and here is how much prize money either side have earned so far.

Downs eliminated CR Belouizdad without troubles, beating them 6-2 on aggregate – which is all the more impressive, considering the Algerian side had only conceded two goals during the group stages.

Meanwhile, Gallants keep on defying the odds in the CAF Confederations Cup, where they knocked money-rich Pyramids out of the competition.

Gallants beat the Egyptian giants 1-0 at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday, and progressed 2-1 on aggregate.

Their exploits on the continent come with massive traveling costs, but Sundowns are now guaranteed prize money $875 000, along with the other three semi-finalists.

Should Masandawana reach they final, they are guaranteed $1.25 million, while that amount would double, if they would win the tournament.

Gallants have secured themselves $450 000 as semi-finalists and could get $625 000, should they reach the final, with $1.25 million up for grabs for the winner.
