Acclaimed South African journalist Siki Mgabadeli has been documenting her recovery journey on social media after suffering two strokes.

Mgabadeli, who previously revealed her chronic condition, had her family and friends set up a fundraising platform to assist with medical expenses. 

Recently, she has been posting video snippets on Instagram showcasing her progress, including a clip shared on Saturday where she was seen walking, showing the resilience she has shown since the life-altering events.

Her post was met with an outpouring of love and encouragement from followers, who praised her determination and celebrated her recovery milestones.

Meanwhile, fellow award-winning journalist Chriselda Lewis revealed on X that she too, faced two similar health scares in recent years but was fortunate to receive hospital care on time. 

“I disappeared from TV, nobody noticed. I wanted it to be like that,” she wrote. “The second incident I said no more. I am so happy she’s on the road to recovery. I have never spoken about this before.”
