Remains of Limpopo bus crash victims to be repatriated to Zimbabwe

Twenty-nine of forty-three people who died in a horrific bus crash in Limpopo will be repatriated back home to Zimbabwe. This was confirmed by the Limpopo Provincial Government on Friday.
The 29 will be transported to Zimbabwe after all identification procedures are completed.
At least 43 people died and scores of others were injured in a bus crash on the N1 near Makhado, in Limpopo earlier this month.
The bus, ferrying Malawian and Zimbabwean citizens, was traveling from the Eastern Cape to Zimbabwe when it plunged over a hill.
Preliminary investigations have since revealed that the bus was not roadworthy and was overloaded, citing these as contributing factors to the accident that claimed more than 40 lives.
Provincial Government spokesperson Ndavhe Ramakuela says the identification process for seven children is yet to be concluded as it requires specialised DNA identification.
Additionally, Ramakuela says the provincial government is working with the Malawian government to finalise their list of eight bodies that still need to be repatriated.
Meanwhile, both the Zimbabwean and Malawian governments have pledged to cover all repatriation and medical costs for those who were involved in the accident.
