Relebohile Mofokeng can win the league for Orlando Pirates

Relebohile Mofokeng has been in sensational form during the second half of the season for Orlando Pirates.

The 21-year-old attacker has scored four goals and registered four assists since the start of 2026, playing a key role in helping the Buccaneers climb back to the top of the Betway Premiership standings.

His outstanding performances were recognised this week when he was named the Premier Soccer League Player of the Month for January/February, capping off a remarkable run of form.

Nicknamed “President ya ma2000”, Mofokeng delivered several influential displays during the two months, taking his direct goal contributions to seven as Pirates strengthened their push for the league title.

Mofokeng could end Pirates’ long league drought

At the rate he is going, Mofokeng could finally help deliver the league title to Pirates after a 14-year drought.

Despite winning eight trophies in the last six years, the Buccaneers have yet to reclaim the league crown, although they have come close on several occasions.

In tightly contested title races, teams often rely on a standout performer to inspire them over the line. This season, Mofokeng appears to be that player for the Sea Robbers.

With just 11 matches remaining in the campaign, consistency will be crucial if Pirates are to maintain their charge at the top of the table.

Should Mofokeng guide the club to the title, he will undoubtedly cement his place among the finest players to wear the famous black and white jersey.

Pirates can finally let Mofokeng go

A move to Europe could also be on the horizon for the talented youngster, although much will depend on which clubs are willing to meet his valuation.

With the upcoming international stage approaching, Mofokeng will also have another opportunity to showcase his immense talent to the world.

Can Mofokeng help the Buccaneers win the league?
