FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Hantam, Kai !Garib and Kareeberg Local municipalities in the Northern Cape, Laingsburg and Beaufort West Local Municipalities in the Western Cape, as well in places in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Raymond Mhlaba and Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipalities in the Eastern Cape.

ADVISORIES:

Heat wave conditions are expected over the Richtersveld Municipality of the Northern Cape.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and warm.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers along the escarpment.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers along the escarpment.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy with fog along the coast at first, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy over the central and eastern parts, with isolated showers and thundershowers over the extreme north-western interior by the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog along the south-west and south coast as well as their adjacent interiors, where it will be cool in places, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy over the extreme north-eastern parts in the late afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable along the south coast, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Fine and warm to hot, but cloudy with morning fog in places along the coast and adjacent interior. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly, but light and variable in places.

The Eastern half – Fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy in places from the afternoon.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly at first, otherwise light to moderate south-westerly, becoming light and variable in the evening.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Fine and warm, but hot in the east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northeasterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
