Fans couldn’t be happier for the actress as she has been landing gig after gig and her acting career is undeniably on the incline.
Kwanele is currently starring in Redemption, a brand-new BET series that airs Monday through Friday at 18:00 and 21:30 for the repeat. However, fans were unaware of the extensive preparation required of actors before they could even appear on the screen. The uprising actress posted a video where she can be seen applying her hair and makeup, changing numerous times, and generally having a busy day. Mzansi thought it was all pretty hectic, but many took the time to congratulate the actress for getting the role. All her co-stars were all over the place and were even seen having lunch with her at one point. They seem so busy that they can’t go home, so they cook for them.
The intriguing new daily drama made its BET Africa debut on September 26. The program airs on BET Africa (DStv 129) before moving on to e.tv.Redemption centres on the Zikode family and is set in a sizable church. In response to Pastor Simon Zikhode’s (Themba Ndaba) disappearance, his daughter Faith (Kwanele Mthethwa), who is just beginning her international music career, reportedly drops everything to save her family. On Redemption, Kwanele Mthethwa portrays Faith, a young woman who returns home and discovers shocking secrets about her family.
As Faith gets increasingly involved in the church and the family’s affairs, she discovers horrifying secrets about those closest to her and is forced to face her demons. Dark truths are exposed, and the Zikode family is forced to make many difficult decisions as they fight to uphold their legacy.
