MaXhosa Africa showcased at global fashion’s most prestigious platform for the fifth time on Saturday, steadily redefining African luxury for the world.

It is often the only African design house featured at Paris Fashion Week. The brand’s founder, Laduma Ngxokolo, is clearly committed to the role of African cultural ambassador.

Siyi-Kulture

Port Elizabeth-born Ngxokolo expressed a desire to reinforce MaXhosa Africa’s founding philosophy with his Fall/ Winter 2026 Collection. The showcase titled Siyi-Kulture was presented at the historic Le Philanthro-Lab, near Notre Dame.

On the MaXhosa website, he describes the work as a powerful affirmation of identity, heritage, and collective belonging.

African

‘The collection is about validating ourselves as African,’ Ngxokolo told Women’s Wear Daily.

At its core, these are immaculately tailored, modern silhouettes such as suits, tracksuits, dresses and polo shirts vibrantly made up in Ngxokolo’s signature-style Xhosa motif, knitwear. It features sensual mohair, viscose and lurex in bold patterns and colours. The high-end garments convey the designer’s intention to show lived culture, its movement and fluidity.

Brand

MaXhosa Africa was founded in 2010. There are numerous stores across South Africa. The brand has had a year-long presence in New York. The designer items, priced from about R10 000, include men’s and ladies’ wear as well as lifestyle or home décor, available for purchase online.
