‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kandi Burruss talks about her divorce

Singer and songwriter Kandi Burruss recently went to the Sherri Shepherd Show, where she opened up about her divorce from Todd Tucker, her husband of 11 years.

“Last time you came here, we had so much fun… then a few weeks later, you announced your divorce. So I wanna know, how are you doing?” Shepherd asked Burruss.

“I’m doing alright. I wanna say thank you for not bringing it up on the show, because you already knew that I was having some things going on, because we have that type of relationship,” Burruss responds, pointing to Shepherd and herself.

“But I’m okay, we’re trying to work through it. I mean, it is what it is… I hope we can work everything out and be cool,” Burruss adds.

“Yeah, because you’ve got the kids,” Shepherd says.

“And that’s the ultimate reason to make sure we’re at least trying to be cool, because we still gotta be cool regardless after this is done. You know, so I’m trying to not let this get too disrespectful,” says the No Scrubs writer.

“That’s what I love about you, Kandi, because you always consider the kids, because we talk about ‘kids pick up on energy,’ and your main focus is keeping the kids safe, happy, protected,” says Shepherd.

“Right. I mean, you’ve been through this before, though,” says Burruss.

“Girl, too many times,” jokes Shepherd, much to the audience’s amusement.

“I know you split with Todd in July, but didn’t reveal it until four months later. That’s gotta be hard to keep up because we always see you smiling… How difficult was that to keep going?” asks Shepherd.

“It was very difficult because you don’t really know when is the right time to make it public… After we did file, it was everywhere, and I don’t know if I was quite expecting that…,” responds Burruss.
