According to Makenosi Maroo, the spokesperson for Rand Water, the maintenance work has been finished, it will still take some time for the water reticulation system to fully recover.

The reservoirs in certain areas have become empty, and as a result, it may take several days for the water supply to be completely restored in higher elevated regions.

Maroo also highlighted that they follow a proactive maintenance and asset management program, which involves carrying out critical renewal and maintenance projects at regular intervals.

To assist the affected areas, Johannesburg Water will continue to provide water tankers until the reservoirs return to their normal levels.
