Ramaphosa: A family lost 10 members in KZN floods

President Cyril Ramaphosa says one family lost 10 members in the KZN flood disaster.

Ramaphosa was speaking while visiting communities affected by the floods in Ntuzuma.

The president has promised to assist all affected people as thousands have been left destitute by the floods.

Ramaphosa also says preparations are underway to declare KZN a disaster area.

Meanwhile, according to KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane, the death toll from the KZN floods has risen to 253.
