Residents of Pretoria and Johannesburg should prepare for a wet weekend, with showers and thunderstorms forecast for both cities, according to the latest weather predictions.
In Pretoria, Saturday will begin with a high chance of showers and thunderstorms, before the skies clear up to become partly cloudy later in the day. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 26°C, dropping to a minimum of 13°C overnight. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) predicts a 30% chance of rain, with around 3mm of rainfall expected.
The forecast for Sunday looks similar, with more showers and thunderstorms anticipated throughout the day. The capital will see a slight rise in temperature, with a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 29°C.

Meanwhile, in Johannesburg, the weather will mirror that of Pretoria on Saturday, with morning showers and thunderstorms followed by partly cloudy conditions. The city will be slightly cooler, with temperatures ranging from a low of 12°C to a high of 24°C. Morning humidity will also be at 65%, dropping to 45% in the evening.
Sunday will again bring showers and thunderstorms to Johannesburg, with temperatures ranging between 14°C and 25°C. The chance of rain remains at 30%, with around 3mm expected.
