South African influencer Sarah Langa revealed that she had her a portion of her luggage stolen upon her arrival to Paris, France.

SARAH LANGA REVEALS LUXURY ITEMS OVER R100K WERE STOLEN

Influencer Sarah Langa took to social media to share her frustration at her a portion of her luggage being stolen from her Rimowa suitcase with a jammed lock and an open zipper. She revealed that her bikinis, shoes, sunglasses and other personal belogings had been stolen from her bag. The influencer estimated that around R100 000 of luxury items had been stolen. She also explained that she did take precaution. However, the thieves still forced their way into the suitcase.

Langa also said that the airline, Air France “ruined” her vacation before it started.

“Imagine landing and getting to your hotel to find that your luggage has been broken into at the airport and all of your shoes and all your sunglasses have been stolen. Thank you, Air France, for ruining my vacation before it even started,” she wrote on the clip.

“I was basically walking around barefoot for my entire retreat vacation,” she said.

@lowkeysarahlanga No one ever speaks of the horrors of travelling….This is not okay @Air France over €6/7k (excluding my actual suitcase which is destroyed) of items stolen from my luggage at the airport? Also @RIMOWA ♬ original sound – lowkeysarahlanga

HOW MUCH DOES AIR FRANCE COMPENSATE?

Air France encourages their customers to report stolen luggage as soon as possible.

“If the baggage is damaged, delayed, lost or destroyed, the passenger must write and complain to the air carrier as soon as possible,” according to the website.

Air France also states that under international regulations, airlines may be held liable for the destruction, loss or damage of baggage up to 1,519 Special Drawing Rights (SDRs). This is estimated at €1880 (+-R35 500 depending on the exchange rate).
